Dances for Matisse

Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth will perform dances created for the "Matisse: Painter as Sculptor" exhibition, a traveling exhibition on Matisse to premiere concurrently at the Dallas Museum of Art and Nasher Sculpture Center. The exhibition will examine Henri Matisse’s sculptural works as part of a multifaceted conversation among the different media in his work. Organized by the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and The Baltimore Museum of Art, "Matisse: Painter as Sculptor" will be on view from January 21 through April 29, 2007, with each institution displaying different sections of the exhibition. CD/FW will create a series of short dances related to the works featured in the exhibition.
