Learn how Dallas and North Texas pioneers prepared for spring by helping sow the fields, plant the crops and prepare the wool to become a pair of warm mittens.
Pick up a shovel and help Mr. Rausch plant and tend the fields. Plant your very own seed to take home and watch grow. Give Mrs. Kennedy a hand beating the winter dust out of the rugs. Witness a real 1860s hand sheep shearing and feel the oily texture of the freshly sheared wool. Help clean the wool with a wool carder and spin it into yarn to be used later for knitting or weaving.
As a special treat, the Dallas Herb Society will be conducting herbal demonstrations and hosting a plant sale.
