Conducted by Luis Martín, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of History, this lecture will explore the religious and spiritual climate of Seville in the opening decades of the 17th century, at the time when a young man by the name of Diego Velázquez was growing there, and his artistic genius was awakened by the colors, sounds, shapes, and scents of the most sensuous city in Spain.
