Neiman Marcus at 100: The Fortnights and Fashion in Dallas
May 3, 2007
, 2007
From its inception in Dallas 100 years ago, Neiman Marcus has geared its business toward providing exclusive merchandise to the discerning buyer previously only available in New York and Paris. In 1957, Stanley Marcus had the brilliant idea of bringing international culture to North Texas through annual Fortnights. The highlight of the social and cultural season, the Fortnights continued to delight Dallas patrons for more than 30 years. Anne E. Peterson, Curator of Photographs, DeGolyer Library, SMU, will show slides from the DeGolyer’s Stanley Marcus Collection and the Alvin Colt Fortnight Collection during her talk.
In the Dr. Bob Smith Auditorium. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
