Cinco de Mayo Family Fun Day Fiesta
May 5, 2007
Mexican folk dancing, “festive fashion” art activities and sketching in the galleries highlight “Cinco de Mayo Family Day Fiesta!” at the Meadows Museum.
The event is being held in conjunction with two current exhibitions at the museum: “Balenciaga and His Legacy: Haute Couture from the Texas Fashion Collection” and “Boleros y Mantillas: Icons of Spanish Fashion in the Meadows Collection.”
At 12:00 and 1:00 p.m., the Dallas-based Mexico 2000 Ballet Folklorico will showcase the exciting art of Mexican folk dancing with performances in the Smith Auditorium. Docent-guided tours of the Balenciaga exhibition and the permanent collection of Spanish art will be offered at 2:00 p.m.
