Genesis Women’s Shelter will welcome author and Texas native Deborah Scaling Kiley as keynote speaker. As seen on Larry King Live and Oprah, Debbie will recount the 1982 shipwreck she endured in chilly, shark-infested waters as well as her triumph over a childhood of abuse and neglect. Her story is about the spirit to survive – an instinct all too familiar to women and children fleeing from violence to safe havens like Genesis Women’s Shelter.
