Description
In the late nineteenth century, admiration for and a fascination with Japanese art helped fuel a craze in this country for paintings of chrysanthemums. Lawton will discuss In the Greenhouse, by Dennis Miller Bunker, and its relationship to the fabled Boston art collector Isabella Stewart Gardner, who was also a renowned horticulturalist.
