Blackwerks, says:
Doors open at 9pm with our very own DJ Spinn in the mix. Live performances start after 11pm. Every single artist on this lineup is dope on his own, but we are excited to have assembled them all into one show. For those that don't know, this was the very first show Blackwerks Ent ever booked way back in March. It's been a long time coming, but it's finally here!
Each artist is heavyweight in the game. Dawg Wonder is one of the most likeable artists I know. Outside of knowing him a little personally, his music is just that dope! He released the Amazing Dawg Show and caught a feature on WSOUF's mixtape (out of Morth Carolina). His list of performances is stacking up and will surely grow even more. Dawg Wonder is dope! 'Nuff said
DJ Frantic is the illest DJ with the nastiest turntable skills I have seen since the days of Baby G rocking Clearview, Trees, etc back in the day. I'm a junkie for DJs that actually go to work and do more than simply pushing the cross fader from 1 to 2. DJ Frantic is absolutely bananas on the wheels. Aside of his work as a member of the Clever Monkeys (dope) he is also doing the DJ School to pass his talents on to the next DJs. The thing I respect most about DJ Frantic is outside of his music. He's dope and could easily walk around with the swagger of being the best, but he doesn't. He's humble and freindly and as real a person that you will ever meet.
King Ashoka is largely overlooked in the dfwhiphop circle (at least seldom mentioned), but his stage persona and his music is incredible! If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing Ashoka work a stage and listen to the lyirical skills he can flex, you are in for a special treat. King Ashoka is a legitimate contender as one of the top 5 artists here in DFW.
T-Wrex is one of our own artists here at Blackwerks and obviously my opinion is extremely bias. I think his stance on legitimate issues, along with his lyrical delivery are his stringest points. I'll let someone else sing his praises or offer thier critique so I don't skew the perception. As for facts: He is still in the top 10 on the UK Internet Radio charts. He is getting steady play up and down the east coast and is finally creeping down here with more play in Oklahoma. The West Coast is embracing him, but Europe has truly responded strongly. He is featured on the TopNotch Hustlers mixtape, the Team Unification mixtape, and the Bounce Magazine Mix Series. His first solo CD "My Life on Paper" is still in talks with major labels for California and we are anxiously awaiting his follow up sophomore release "The Strife and Grinds of L Gray". Wrex will be leaving for Atlanta for another round of shows there, then returning for this show.
Steve Austin has already proven that he is on the right path as evidenced by his Billboard Chart status and his increasing radio play. Mad props to Steve for his trip to Cali to open for Keyshia Cole, yet another resumed piece of work to be proud of. His "800lb Gorilla" Cd release is quickly gaining support, but we have all know of Steve's artistic prowess from previous releases. That "Bussa Move" video is dope, too. I have publically said before that I thought Steve Austin represented the best opportunity for a local artist to break because of his lyrical delivery, his personality, his charisma, and his fantastic stage presence. I fully expect to see everyone come out and rally around our very own Steve Austin.
DJ Spinn has been putting in work for other promoters (most notable Victory Ent) for some time now. While doing that, he has also been working in the studio with numerous local artists. He is also a legitimate powerhouse prodcuer. He did a great deal of the tracks on T-Wrex's CD and is also working with other artists to get their CDs done. You can't meet DJ Spinn and not walk away knowing that he is good people. Again, I am obviously bias because of DJ Spinn's affiliation with Blackwerks, but I challenge anyone to find something negative to say about him.
Nate Quick is definitely known as a K104 personality and has been for some time. What some might not know of is his own mixtape material, namely the "22s or Better" mixtape. Nate Quick is one of us and we are proud to bring him out to host this colossal event.
When we chose the title "Titans of the Metroplex" it was by no fluke. I believe this describes this group very well. I hope that you and everyone else here makes it out to support some of the strongest potential ever assembled. These are our very own and have been mentioned by many of us as top 5 local artists. Let's see the support that comes out for the artists in the lineup.
