Tony Pederson - “Reporter Privilege: A Con Job or an Essential Part of Democracy?”
November 14, 2007
Recent high-profile cases have raised the public's awareness of journalists' ability to keep sources confidential and prompted a discussion of the broader issue of the media’s role in society. This lecture will explore the ethics of reporter-source confidentiality and its legal status in Texas. The lecture begins at Noon, but please come for a reception (with heavy hors d'oeuvres) at 11:30 am. This lecture is free and open to the public.
