The Train

As Allied troops prepare to liberate Paris, a Nazi colonel (Paul Scofield) loads hundreds of French art treasures onto a train for Germany. Burt Lancaster plays the French railway official assigned to get the train to its destination - and he and other members of the Resistance struggle to sabotage the train while preserving the paintings.
