For more than 330 years, Tartuffe, by Jean-Baptiste Poquelin Molière, has had audiences laughing at common human frailty and false religious fervor.
When a seemingly pious man, Tartuffe, is welcomed into one family his false nature leads to seduction and theft-almost. Orgon, a wealthy father, seems oblivious to the true nature of Tartuffe, even as Tartuffe works to win the hand of Orgon's daughter while also seducing his wife. Will Tartuffe's hypocrisy be rewarded with riches, or will he get the comeuppance he richly deserves? All the comedy happens as the audience waits to find out.
