Emmy-winning TV reporter, Jeff Crilley, will be the guest speaker at a workshop hosted by RealWorld IMC on its one-year anniversary. The interactive workshop for nonprofits will teach fail-proof tactics on how to gain free publicity. The event is scheduled for Monday, October 29, 2007 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni Center at TCU located on 2820 Stadium Drive. Tickets are $20 and include breakfast and an autographed copy of Crilley’s book, Free Publicity.
During his 23 years in television as a general assignment reporter, Crilley has covered a variety of news stories and has appeared numerous times on national news programs including CNN, FOX News, Good Morning America and more.
Crilley believes in combining learning with laughter. His charismatic speaking style lends itself perfectly to this fun, information-packed talk. Crilley illustrates one of his points in a way that will have everyone blowing bubbles, literally.
His day-to-day news gathering experience has given him special insight into what the news covers and why. Crilley will talk about the best and worst times for news coverage, as well as how to become the “expert” in your field. Crilley’s accomplishments include dozens of national and regional awards including the Emmy, the National Headliners Award, the Edward R. Murrow Award, and the Thurgood Marshall Award. In 2004 the Texas Associated Press named him “The Best TV Reporter in the State.”
Tickets can be purchased over the phone by calling (817) 257-5967, e-mailing realworld.tcu.edu, or mailing a check (payable to TCU) to 3008 Sandage Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76109.
