Dir: René Guerrero
Prd: René Guerrero
TRT: 60 min
During a time when most symphony orchestras find it difficult to be successful, this small-town Fort Smith, Arkansas orchestra flourishes under the baton of its music director/conductor, John Jeter. This film follows Mr. Jeter for the 48 hours prior to the opening concert of the season and builds to the climax of opening night. Find out what musicians really think about being a member of this group. Be there when Jeter asks for corporate financial support, reherses the orchestra, promotes the season on radio, and reminesces with his long-time friend and Composer-In-Residence, Michael Schelle. These guys break the classical music pre-conceived notion of 'boring' and change it to a passion-induced pursuit that makes even the quintecential head-banger want to attend symphony.
This film will screen as a special presentation.
