Participants will have a day of fun visiting the animals at the Dallas Zoo and will have an opportunity to visit with City of Dallas representatives who will provide information on City departments and services. Also present will be City mascots Trinity Trudy, Storm Water; and Sparky the Fire Dog, Dallas Fire-Rescue.
Children will also learn fire safety tips. Dallas Fire-Rescue will provide a fire safety house for children ages 5 -10. A smoke detector, imitation smoke and flashing lights simulate a fire situation. Children are guided through proper evacuation procedures.
Entertainment will be provided by Latin music and dance group Cantares and The Act of Change featuring puppetry, music and song. Representatives from the Dallas Museum of Art will also provide information on the Go Van Gogh community outreach program.
