Description
Peacemakers Inc. is a local non-profit that has been working for peace in the North Texas community for nearly 30 years. The proceeds from this event will enable us to bring Rita Marie Johnson to meet with North Texas school districts on the peace curriculum. Ms. Johnson is a former advisor to the Vice President of Costa Rica and was instrumental in the founding of Costa Rica's federal Department of Peace. Pilot programs have shown that peace studies programs improve classroom climate, reduce stress on teachers and students, enable students to work more productively and enhance problem solving skills.
