Dr. Judith Berg Sobré, professor of art history at UT-San Antonio, discusses how, in the world of painters and painting in 15th-century Spain, the painters of retablos were at the top of the pyramid. Some could demand top price, but the industry was large and price was sometimes affected by factors other than talent, so "the good, the bad and the ugly" were all found.
