Description
"LAND OVER SEA," The Art Ball 2008, will sponsor the ninth annual Young Artists' Program and Exhibition. The Young Artists' Program provides art education and curriculum funding to area schools. This year's exhibition will feature works of art created by over 750 students, grades K-12, from twelve public and private schools. The students created works of art inspired by their study of the British artist, J.M.W. Turner, and the exhibition of his work currently on display at the Dallas Museum of Art. Based on their class curriculum, the students created works using a wide variety of techniques and media, including sculpture, oil, acrylic and watercolor painting, ink and charcoal drawing, black and white photography, digital photography, printmaking, and mixed media including paper, fabric, plastic, wood and found objects. Over 550 works of art will be displayed in the Museum's four quadrant galleries.
