Description
The awards show and concert will be hosted by Ticket radio personality and Quick columnist Gordon Keith. Scheduled to perform are headliners The Polyphonic Spree, along with Denton rock group Record Hop, Dallas rap trio PPT, Denton electronic act Ghosthustler and DJ crew The Party. There will also be a rap battle featuring two Dallas MCs, Headkrack and Playdough. And country cover band The King Bucks will perform with singer-songwriters Salim Nourallah, Sarah Jaffe, Doug Burr and Johnny Lloyd Rollins.
In addition to the live performances, awards will be given out in 10 categories, including big song and album of the year, as well as honors for online presence, breakthrough artist and next big thing. A panel of local-music insiders — including Cindy Chaffin, Stonedranger from weshotjr.com, Chelsea Callahan and Quick’s Hunter Hauk and Skin — collaborated on the nominees.
