ICMC's 2008 season will open with "Piya Bawari - Live in Concert" presenting Abhijit Pohankar (keyboards/composer) & ensemble. “Piya Bawari - Live in Concert” is a live concert presentation of India’s biggest fusion music album PIYA BAWARI. The album was a trendsetter in this kind of sound and; Piya Bawari and Abhijit Pohankar’s musical vision and Pandit Ajay Pohankar’s heavenly voice made a deep impact on the listeners mind. Piya Bawari went on to become a huge hit. That is what comprises of this concert in which THE POHANKARS (Pt Ajay & Abhijit Pohankar) have created a new sound of Indian traditional music. A sound which have mesmerized audiences young or old. Indian traditional music along with dreamy sounds and rhythmic grooves. A perfect combination of traditional and experienced with the new age and futuristic vision is what is ‘PIYA BAWARI’-A live concert which has the amazingly haunting vocals of Maestro vocalist Pt. Ajay Pohankar along with The only Indian classical keyboard player Abhijit Pohankar who is responsible to have younger audiences get attracted to Indian music presented in a new age style.
