Description

Are you tired of the typical Holiday shows? Come check ours out! The women of the Beulaville Baptist Book Club are in dire straits financially, and as a last ditch attempt to save their book club they decide to do a fundraiser and hire the Beaumont Ballet to perform Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker”. Madge’s Piña Colada Casserole unfortunately sickens the entire cast with food poisoning and they are unable to perform. Luckily, there is another dance troop in town. It seems the Velvet Kittens Burlesque Dancers are stuck in Beulaville because their van broke down on their way to New Orleans. Madge has never heard of Burlesque, or as she pronounces it “Bur-less-Q”, and in an act of necessity hires the dance troupe to do “The Nutcracker”. The end result? The most original, unusual, and comical Nutcracker you have ever seen!

A review of last year's: http://www.pegasusnews.com/news/2007/...

I saw it too and it was an unqualified hoot. Highly recommend.

Finally got to see it this year. Yeah, it's racier than I usually go in for, but frankly, the dancing is great (sure - it's damned sexy, but these are real dancers - thank heavens)

The jokes are simple and blue and the characters are unapologetic stereotypes, but best of all, nowhere in any of the text is a reference to "A Christmas Carol" or "It's a Wonderful Life."

More Nog than Egg in a season known for syrup.

I keep missing the show; looks like I won't make it out Wednesday, either, as long as Yost is still performing. Argghhhhhhghgh.

Come ON Pavel. Criminy! He's added more shows than most local companies' entire friggin' RUNS. It's hokey, but a hoot.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll try to go on Thursday. Or Tuesday? I'll find a way to support the sexy arts.
