Water-Soluble Oils and You with Caroline Shaw Ometz
February 16, 2008
These versatile new oils have the luster and feel of traditional oils but pour, splatter and drip like acrylics. With the surprise of oil interacting with water, special textures and surfaces appear with unlimited creative possibilities. You will explore paint/oil/water interactions, create moods and let the emerging shapes spark your imagination. Exploratory exercises will promote freshness and suggest alternatives to conventional ways of using oils. The canvases you create can be left alone as abstracts or developed with more layers of paint and imagination. The classical method of the old masters will also be explored. Color mixing, composition, concept and technique will be the focus of this playful workshop. Supply fee includes water-soluable oil set. Please bring a lunch.
$175 Members ($205 Non-Members) $50 Materials Fee.
