Storm Spotter School
February 16, 2008
, 2008
The annual Dallas County Storm Spotter School has been presented by the National Weather Service Fort Worth Office meteorologists, sponsored by the City of Garland Office of Emergency Management, and hosted by Garland Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) for the past 27 years. These classes are to train amateur radio operators, city and county personnel, and other interested individuals to spot, identify, and report weather conditions that have or could produce potentially dangerous situations. These reports are used by the NWS, news media, cities, and county to issue early warnings to the public. The training includes both basic and advanced topics. In addition, our media partners will be on hand.
This training is open and free to the public. For additional information, contact Mollie Gilmore-Rivas at 972-205-3972.
