Boylen begins his first season as head men's basketball coach at the University of Utah and brings over 20 years of NBA and collegiate experience to the MWC.

Boylen spent the previous two seasons as the top assistant on Tom Izzo's staff at Michigan State University where the Spartans notched a 45-24 record.

Boylen served as a member of the Houston Rocket's coaching staff that captured back-to-back NBA Championships (1994, 1995) and advanced to the Western Conference Championships during the 1997 season.
