Celebrate America's birthday with a run through the beautiful streets of University Park. On Friday, July 4, prior to this year's Park Cities Independence Day Parade, the City of University Park will host the 1st annual "UP Firecracker Fun Run."
The event, designed for participants of all ages and abilities, will begin and end at Curtis Park. The run will start at 7:30 a.m. Most participants should be able to complete the course in an hour. Prizes will be awarded in several different participant categories. After the parade, the names of the top finishers will be announced at the gazebo in Goar Park.
Fun Run registration details:
All participants, regardless of age, must register for the event. Early registration for those over 12 is $15.00. Runners 12 and under can participate for free. Registration the morning of the race will be $20.00 for those over 12. Fun Run T-shirts will be provided for all participants. All proceeds will benefit Coffee Park's Barrier Free Playground project.
