Description

Ringling Bros.® and Studio Movie Grill will host a special screening of the 1962 movie classic “Billy Rose’s Jumbo” at Studio Movie Grill Dallas/Royal, located at Royal Lane and I-75.

Starring Doris Day, Jimmy Durante and Martha Raye, this family classic includes everything for movie and circus fans – music, romance, comedy and elephantine fun. Theater-goers will also catch a small glimpse of the heartbeat of circus life when it traveled from city to city by pitching tents, more commonly known as the “Big Top.” Pop (Jimmy Durante) and Kitty (Doris Day) are the owners of the debt-ridden Wonder Circus. Their main attraction is the popular pachyderm Jumbo. Three-ring pandemonium breaks out when their competitor, John Noble, wants Jumbo and is luring away all of Wonders’ acts leaving them with virtually nothing.

Tickets for the “Circus Movie Mania” fundraiser are $15 each. This evening of circus includes the movie screening, a yummy pizza buffet, a meet-and-greet and performance by the zany Ringling Bros. Goodwill Ambassadors of Laughter Slappy and Monday, cool circus prizes and raffles with a chance to win a Studio Movie Grill movie basket, a Ringling Bros. circus basket with VIP tickets, and Dallas Children’s Theater’s 2008-2009 Season Tickets for a family of four, plus more. It promises to be a night full of Film, Food, Family & Fun!

Proceeds from “Circus Movie Mania” will be designated to educational programs serving 60,000 children in the Dallas metroplex.

To purchase “Circus Movie Mania” tickets, call 214/740-0051 or visit www.dct.org for more information. “Circus Movie Mania” is sponsored by these circus and movie fans: NBC5, North Texas Kids and Warner Bros. Theatrical.
