Mask Making

Description

Visual resources will be used to discuss the history of mask, their use in various holidays and ceremonies and as decorative art. Students will discuss the function of mask in the Asian, African, Hispanic and American Indian cultures. The Mask will be symbolic of the student who makes it. Students will be encouraged to use a variety of mediums and extensions (ears, horns, hats). It can be animal, mythical, superhuman or a combination of them all. Supply fee to instructor: $5. Instructor: Junanne Peck.

Ages 9 and over.
