In celebration of the subtleties of craft beer, Victory Tavern is hosting a tasting dinner featuring the beers of Deschutes Brewery on Thursday, July 24. Gary Fish, founder and president of Deschutes Brewery, will be on hand to give insight into the featured brews.

Chef Jim Oetting will explore the flavor profiles of Deschutes’ handcrafted ales, lagers and porters, pairing beers with complementary city grille cuisine. The dinner will feature four courses, including a grill-side reception on the Victory Tavern patio.

Peekey Toe Crab & Cucumber Salad on Crostini
Grilled Chicken Skewers with Hummus & Feta
-Paired with Inversion IPA, an India Pale Ale featuring soft, complex caramel flavors enlivened by an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit.

Appetizer
Pan-Seared Dayboat Scallops with Mango, Shaved Fennel, Butter
Lettuce & Orange Poppyseed Vinaigrette
-Paired with Mirror Pond Pale Ale, a classic American pale ale with generous Cascade hops, a lush floral aroma and a balanced malt body.

Entree
Grilled Buffalo Brochette with Chile Roasted Almond Basmati Rice & Summer Texas Berry Gastrique
-Paired with Green Lakes Organic Ale, an auspicious amber ale that’s easy to drink, with a mellow malt profile and subtly surprising hop flavors.

Dessert
Black Butte Porter Ice Cream Float with House Churned Chocolate Malt Ice Cream
-Featuring Black Butte Porter, a rich, distinctive brew crafted with chocolate and crystal malts
