A sampling of very affordable and delicious white, dry rosé and red wines, all to be enjoyed with friends & family in casual settings, on the patio or by the pool.

Sauvignon Blanc is one of their favorite summer whites as the grape is naturally high in acidity and has a backbone of citrus fruit that is just wonderful on a hot summer day. A good Sancerre from the Loire Valley has a vein of minerals and fresh cut grass that can be quite refreshing. We will also taste a couple of other unique wines – a crisp Chenin Blanc from the Anjou and a unique Irouléguy from the Pyrenees made by J.C. Berrouet (Château Pétrus).

A few great value red will be on hand from Bordeaux, the Rhône Valley and even Cahors, famous for its Malbec. To round out the tasting, L Cave will feature a dry, crisp and full of flavor Merlot-based rosé from Bordeaux.

  1. Irouléguy, Herri Mina, J.C. Berrouet 2004
  2. Anjou blanc, Chauvigné, Dom. Richou 2005
  3. Sancerre, Non Filtré « Comme autrefois », H. Brochard 2006
  4. Château Sainte-Marie, Esprit Bordeaux rosé 2006
  5. Mission St Vincent, Vieilles Vignes Bordeaux rouge 2003
  6. Cahors, Les Cèdres, Cuvée Prestige 2004
  7. Côtes du Rhône, Domaine Pierredon 2005
