"The Triumph of Rasguachismo: Latin@Religious Thought Thought from the Bottom Up" with Dr. Rudy Busto

The contemporary study of Latin@Religions is moving away from the categories and disciplines that gave birth to the questions. what does it mean to study Latin@Religions "from the bottom up" without appeal to the standards of the academy. What do Latin@Religions themselves bring to an analysis that captures the spirit and material realities of community life? Professor Busto's talk will examine how taking seriously the (anti-)aesthetic style of rasquachismo moves us towards better interdisciplinary, if not counterdisciplinary work in religion.
