Dallas Quilt Celebration
March 14, 2008
Join us in celebrating our 27th year of Dallas Quilt Celebrations. Our theme for the Dallas Quilt Celebration 2008 is "Timeless Traditions", let us celebrate the traditions of quilting and share our love of quilts with you.
One of the highlights of the day on Saturday will be the annual "live" Miniature Quilt Auction. This event will begin on Saturday, March 15th at 1:30 p.m.
Approximately 50 small works of art will be auctioned during the 2008 Dallas Quilt Celebration. Bringing in anywhere from $35 to $400, quilt collectors from the region will gather to bid on these priceless pieces.
This year's beneficiary of the auction is the Camp John Marc - Special Camps For Special Kids. Special Camps for Special Kids serves children with chronic illnesses and major physical disabilities and the families of those children, by making possible high-quality, year-round camping experiences at Camp John Marc, a unique camp facility in Bosque County, Texas, 85 miles southwest of Dallas. At Camp John Marc, Special Camps for Special Kids provides cooperative programming with the health organizations, community volunteers and pediatric hospitals also dedicated to serving these children. The Quilter's Guild of Dallas is proud to honor these local non-profits with the proceeds from the auction.
