, 2008
The Nasher Sculpture Center announces a new three-part holiday series which blends together spectacular music, food, and art for an enriching family experience in the heart of the Dallas Arts District.
Families are invited to join us for the debut event on Easter Sunday which will feature a free concert by the Arts District Chorale, a not-so-typical Easter "Art" Hunt for children, family photographs in the Garden with James French Photography, and a gourmet brunch at Nasher Cafe by Wolfgang Puck. Also open for exploration is the Nasher's new installation, Beyond the Grasp: Sculpture Transcending the Physical, which features a number of masterworks from the Raymond and Patsy Nasher Collection making their first appearance at the Center.
General admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, $5 for students with ID, and free for Members and children 12 and under. Brunch and photographs are an additional charge.
Schedule of Events:
Easter Brunch at Nasher Café by Wolfgang Puck, 11 am – 3 pm
($30 per person. $25 for Members. $15 for Children.)
Stop by Nasher Café by Wolfgang Puck to enjoy one of Dallas' best kept brunch secrets. Enjoy a beautiful gourmet spread including Almond French Toast Stuffed with Ricotta Cheese, Oatmeal Crème Brulee and Granola Yogurt Parfait.
Arts District Chorale Performance, 2:30 pm (Free with Admission)
Join Artistic Director and Conductor, H. Michie Akin, and the Arts District's premier vocal ensemble for a memorable Easter performance in Nasher Auditorium. The inaugural concert, titled Love is in the Air, celebrates the beginning of Spring with favorite love songs, excerpts from Bernstein's West Side Story, and some very special arrangements especially written for the Chorale by Danny Wesley Ray, performed by the Chorale together and in small ensembles.
Easter "Art" Hunt, 11 am – 5 pm (Free with Admission)
Children will enjoy a meander through the Garden in search of modern masterpieces. This unique "Art" Hunt playfully teaches children about sculpture by taking them on a scavenger hunt adventure, "off the beaten path" around the Garden in between sculptures and alongside water fountains. Children 12 and under who complete the hunt receive a special prize.
Photographs in the Garden by James French Photography, 12 pm – 3 pm ($15 each)
Capture the memory of your family this Easter season with a holiday photo you will cherish for years to come. James French Photography specializes in family portraits, and will be available on a first come, first serve basis in the Garden.
