Description
A moving and celebratory musical play in which hats become a springboard for an exploration of black history and identity as seen through the eyes of a young black woman who has traveled South to stay with her grandmother after her brother is killed in Brooklyn. There is a hat for every occasion, from flirting to churchgoing to funerals to baptisms, and the characters use hats to tell tales concerning everything from the etiquette of hats to their historical and contemporary social functioning. Music and dance underscore and support the narratives in this uplifting gospel musical by Dallas native Regina Taylor.
Previews on March 21,22, and 27. Purchase tickets online or by calling 817-338-4411.
