May 1, 2008
The Real Estate Council Foundation will host TREC FightNight 2008: Twenty Years in the Ring on Thursday, May 1 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, Chantilly Ballroom. More than 1,800 guests will attend this festive black-tie benefit with cocktails, dinner, several rounds of boxing and local celebrity sightings.
TREC FightNight is the commercial real estate industry’s largest area networking fundraiser. Last year FightNight raised $1.5 million, bringing the total funds raised to more than $16 million for the foundation since 1989.
The 20th Annual FightNight will feature a popular celebrity boxer who will be announced at the sponsor party on April 8. Past celebrity boxers have included Larry Holmes, Smokin’ Joe Frazier, Evander Holyfield, Hasim Rahman, Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard and Lennox Lewis. Notable guests such as Troy Aikman, George W. Bush, and Roger Staubach have attended TREC FightNight. In 1992 a 12-year-old named LeAnn Rimes sang the national anthem to open the event.
As one of Dallas’ largest charity events, Fight Night benefits The Real Estate Council Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by The Real Estate Council, dedicated to community development. Since 1989, Fight Night has raised more than $16 million for TREC Foundation. Tickets start at $850 and tables at $7,000.
