The Dynamics of Peer Pressure

Recently, mathematical tools originally developed to model the spead of infectious diseases have been used to study the emergence of collective behaviors such as sooperative learning, drug use, and grassroots political movements. These models show how peer pressure and multi-level mentoring help these phenomena survive even when conditions become hostile to them. we will discuss several examples of this surprising structure.
