Transfigured Nights presents Compline +. Fredrica Phillips is featured in a program of piano music by the English composers Frank Bridge (1879-1941) and his student Benjamin Britten (1913-1976). Bridge’s music will be represented by The Hourglass and Miniature Pastorals, Set 1. Phillips will be joined by tenor David Reece for Britten’s song cycle Winter Words by the English novelist and naturalist poet Thomas Hardy (1840-1928). The recital is followed by the service of Compline, sung by the Women of the Choir, and a reception for the artists in Roper Hall. This event is free and open to the public. Childcare is provided.
