Impressions of Jack Kennedy
November 20, 2008
Provoked by the assassination of President Kennedy, Reverend Holmes, minister of Northaven United Methodist Church in 1963, preached a sermon critical of Dallas' social and political climate at the time. Rev. Holmes found himself in the national spotlight after he repeated portions of his sermon on the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. Rev. Holmes redelivers his sermon and talks about Dallas 1960s history.
Admission to Impressions is free, but seating reservations are required. RSVP by Friday, November 14, at 214-747-6660, ext. 6625, or programs@jfk.org. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
