Wood, Ph.D. Mingei literally translates as "art of the people;" however, it is more often used to refer to Japanese folk art and to describe work that is made by craftsmen, by hand and in large quantities. This talk will explore not only the art recognized within the mingei movement but also the acient roots of this tradition as found in the hiostry of Japanese art.
Free for Friends of the Crow Collection and students. $10 for non-members. Call 214-979-6438 or register online
