Description
Kino, Juana and their infant son Coyotito live in a modest Mexican house by the sea. One morning calamity strikes when Coyotito is stung by a scorpion. Kino and Juana rush their son to the doctor, but when they arrive they are turned away for being poor. Later that morning Kino & Juana take their family canoe out to the estuary to go diving for pearls in order to pay for the doctor. Juana’s prayers for a large pearl are answered when Kino surfaces with the biggest pearl they had both ever seen. Ironically, they experience misfortune after misfortune after discovering the pearl rather than the riches they so desired. The adaptation of John Steinbeck’s novel brings to life the unforgettable story of Kino and his ‘Pearl of the World.’
