Musicarte de Fort Worth - A Celebration of the Americas!
October 3, 2008
, 2008
The arts of the Americas--South, Central and North—come to the heart of Texas Oct. 3-4, 2008 during Musicarte de Fort Worth, a celebration of food and wine, fine art and music in Sundance Square.
Musicarte is produced by the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Downtown Fort Worth’s business and cultural community and is coordinated by the same team that produces the MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival. The event will welcome thousands back to Downtown Fort Worth, this time with a Latin beat and flavor, and benefits the Scholarship Fund of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
“Musicarte de Fort Worth celebrates the proud history, values and creative Latino heritage that give the Southwest its savor,” says Russel CeBallos, chairman of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “Here is an opportunity to bring incredible art and a broad range of music, culture and color to the Downtown area in the fall, while at the same time providing urgently needed resources for scholarships throughout the community.”
The music of Tito Puente Jr., Grupo Fantasma and Latin Express and others will set the tempo for Musicarte, a festival of fine food and wine, live music and dance and exhibits by more than 100 juried fine artists and craftsmen from across the Americas, all in the Central Business District.
The visual, performing, culinary and vintner’s arts of Argentina and Chile as well as the State of Mexico are featured in Musicarte this year. Expect the finest ceramics, painting, photography, woodcarving, glassworks and jewellery as well as multi-media compositions in three Pavilions de las Americas, each devoted to the arts and flavor of a featured region. Live music and dance will be featured on our Sundance Square main stage.
We invite you to participate in this colorful celebration, learn to Salsa and Tango, and otherwise learn about and enjoy all that the Americas have to offer.
