Glass Beadmaking with Jane Haspel
October 4, 2008
In this beginning beadmaking class, you will gain the skills to make a variety of well-shaped beads - round, donut, tube, barrel and bicone. You will learn how to control heat and work with gravity to shape and decorate your beards. You will embellish your beards with frit for an organic look, and with stringer and twisties that you make yourself. You will also learn to feather, layer and twist dots, and encase your beads. We will also discuss studio setup and safety, the different kinds of torches and the importance of annealing your glass. This will be an exciting and fun two days and you will go home with a number of beautiful beads! Enrollment is limited to 6 students. Please bring a lunch.
