Barkitecture Dallas 2008 Festival

White Rock Lake Dog Park, Inc. is very excited to announce this years primary fund raiser for the WRL Dog Park. The event, coined "Barkitecture 2008" is a competitive design and construction contest of unique one-of-a-kind dog homes. Look out Frank Lloyd Wright!!!
This years' project focus will be to raise funds primarily to address the flooding that closes the park each spring for periods of up to two months.
In addition to the display of the dog homes, Barkitecture Dallas will also feature:
- Pet psychic Susan Henson from 10 am to 3 pm
- Pet adoptions (DFW Lab Rescue & Ruff's Friend Dog Rescue
- Pet Blessings
- Food
- Refreshments
- Pet Product and Service Professionals
Schedule of Events
- Pet Adoptions: 10 am - 3 pm
- Pet Psychic 12 pm - 3 pm
- Pet Blessings: 12 pm - 4 pm
- Dog House Winner Announced and Dog House Drawing: 3 pm - 5 pm
If you were unable to vote for your favorite dog house prior to Saturday October 18th, we'll be taking your vote up to the awarding the Best in Show dog house, as well as 2nd and 3rd most favorite.
All money raised for this event will go toward the continued improvements of the White Rock Lake Dog Park.
Directions: Take E. Mockingbird Lane from either direction and exit E. Lawther. Signs will be posted at this exit on Mockingbird. The festival area will be visable east from the Mockingbird bridge.
Parking: parking will be allowed along E. Lawther on the shoulder in addition to the various parking lots located around the White Rock Lake Dog Park. Dallas police will be present to ensure a smooth flow of traffic around the event grounds, parking direction and that everyone has a safe and fun day.
*Please note: all pups in attendance must be kept on leash at all times and in your control.
The dog houses will be on display at The Dallas Arboretum from October 6-17.
