Description
Bennett intuitively erases through smoke stained panels, reworking the natural pattern into his own intricate design. Sublime, dark and moody abstractions, hint at a combination of both celestial and aquatic environments.
Lüders paintings on photogrpahs of paintings engages both a highly charged symbol for contemporary Germany, and an art historical discussion on techniques of trompe l'oeil, “the death of painting” and the current position of photography in contemporary art.
