In an effort to increase awareness of the issue of violence against women, SMU will host a symposium on the Global Effects of Violence Against Women.
Dr. Rick Halperin, Director of the SMU Human Rights Program, will moderate a panel of six leading women’s rights activists including Mina Ahadi (Iran), Nenina Boulliet and Ana Maria Careaga (Argentina), Theresa Flores (United States), Doaa Mansour (Palestine), and Jessica Okello (Uganda).
