Here's a dumb question, can I vote at any of the early voting locations regardless of where I live?

this site has all the information on early voting. It says you can vote early at "any location convenient within [your] political subdivision". this site offers contact information for individual counties. you can call 214-819-6300 for the 26 locations in dallas county.

Michael, here's what the Texas Secretary of State's website says:

  1. Early Voting in person-

Early voting in person may be easier than you think. You don't have to stand in long lines on Election Day. Registered voters may vote early at a location convenient to them within their political subdivision.

I tried calling to get a clarification on what "political subdivision" means, but the number was busy. I was under the impression that you could early vote anywhere in the county in which you are registered, but I could be wrong. To be on the safe side, I'd just go to the place closest to where you live.

Anyone know where the "main early voting polling place" is in Dallas county ?

Don't think there is a "main" early voting place, Tracy -- according to the above map, looks like there should be a place relatively close to you no matter where you live in Dallas County.

Yeh but I have to vote a limited ballot because I moved to Dallas county and my registration is in Collin county. The rules say : "A person may vote a limited ballot by personal appearance only at the main early voting polling place." - but does not say where that is.....

Okay, according to the Dallas County elections office, the Dallas County Records Building at 509 Main Street is the "main" early voting place in Dallas. However, the person I spoke to seemed to indicate that there are main early voting places in each city, so if you live in another city, it might be somewhere different.

So Bentley, say I wanted to spew random gibberish about how a given candidate will bring damnation upon the entire human race...what voting loc is optimal?

I imagine hobos would pay more attention than most. Factor that in, pls.

Scott, I think your gibberish-spouting is best contained on this site or at random sign-stealing events.
