Small-Batch Bourbon Tasting
September 12, 2008
, 2008
The complex flavors of hand-crafted, small batch bourbon will be featured at a happy hour tasting event at Victory Tavern on Friday, Sept. 12. As the name implies, small batch bourbons are made in limited quantities, then are aged six to nine years in new, charred oak barrels. The result is distinctive flavors that are milder than in straight bourbon. The Victory Tavern tasting will feature Baker’s, Booker’s, Basil Hayden’s and Knob Creek bourbons, all created by Beam Global Spirits.
Victory Tavern’s Chef Jim Oetting will pair a special selection of appetizers to each bourbon. The small batch bourbons have flavor notes such as vanilla and nutmeg, brown sugar and honey and oatmeal with spice.
