Generation NeXt Comes to College

Raised in very different social environments and under different formative circumstances than any previous generation, Generation NeXt students bring academic preparation, self-esteem issues, consumer expectations, technological knowledge, and interactional styles that can have a serious impact academic persistence and success. This session will help attendees understand the modal traits of Generation NeXt in their generational context, the impacts of these traits on educational persistence and success, and how college faculty, though the application of best practices in teaching, can best help these young people reach their educational and personal goals.
