Focusing on the military ritual of getting tattooed, Tattooed Under Fire weaves the personal stories of soldiers with visual expressions of the tattoos themselves. This documentary shows how the soldiers express courage and pain through their diverse choices of body art, and how meaningful each image is to their Iraq war-time experience.
