Transformed by Memory

A multi-sensory event at the Nasher Auditorium of the Nasher Sculpture Center, located in in the downtown Dallas Arts District, the fourth installment of the Chorale's 2008-2009 Season of Transformation, sponsored by The Fairmont Dallas.

Rarely performed, Israel in Egypt presents the timeless Old Testament Passover story in song. Handel uses dueling choruses, elaborate counterpoint and intricate fugues to bring to life the Exodus story of slavery, suffering, and deliverance. Moses' Song in the second half reflects on the jubilant and glorious achievements of Exodus, with some of the most brilliant choral-orchestral anthems ever composed by the greatest master of the form.

Transformed By Memory is presented in collaboration with the Nasher Performing Arts Series: A Salute to the Dallas Arts District, featuring the Arts District Chorale, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Opera, the Dallas Black Dance Theatre and the Texas Ballet.

Advance tickets are $20 general admission; $15 seniors (age 65+); and $5 students (with valid ID). To purchase tickets, contact the Arts District Chorale at 214-942-5085 or e-mail a ticket request to: tickets@artsdistrictchorale.org
