Presentation by Jane Harris Cramer, Associate Director of the Center for Biology Education at UW-Madison: "Advising Researchers on Broader Impacts -- Approaches at UW-Madison" Sponsored by UNT's Center for the Study of Interdisciplinarity.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is perennially among the top ten universities in receiving funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Jane is Associate Director of the Center for Biology Education at UW-Madison, and has been advising Wisconsin's researchers on broader impacts since 2001. She is responsible for administering Center activities, which include science education programs for K-12 teachers and students, undergraduates and faculty/future faculty, and partners with CBE colleagues on a number of outreach and undergraduate biology education initiatives. A particular area of interest is enriching the undergraduate experience through beyond the classroom learning opportunities. Jane received her PhD in Microbiology from Northwestern University and worked as a researcher, regulatory affairs/public information officer and education consultant in both academia and the biotechnology industry prior to joining CBE.
