Film series turns from documentaries to a fictional portrayal of an iconic architect. Adapted for the screen by Ayn Rand from her best-selling novel, The Fountainhead is the story of architect Howard Roark (Gary Cooper) and his struggle between his values and artistic goals and those of society. Patricia Neal makes her film debut as the formidable Dominique Francon, the woman who tries to defeat Roark before falling in love with him.
Post-screening discussion: Dr. David Whillock, dean of the College of Communication at TCU will lead a post-screening discussion....expected to be lively and not to be missed.
Admission: $10 donation to the Dallas Center for Architecture Popcorn, candy and cold drinks provided.
